Project goal: to train using a cascade-type model 1200 preschool teachers from 33 regions and 2 municipalities to implement a child-centered curriculum based on the newly developed Teacher’s Guide and 2 sets of standards – National Teacher Standards and Learning and Development Standards for Children from 5 to 7.

Project activities

Stage I: Training of Local Trainers

  1. Building the team: 105 persons from the field of early education in 33 raions and 2 municipalities were selected to further act as local trainers in  “cascade” trainings for preschool teachers. The raion inspectorates were asked to delegate two or four persons (depending on the size of the raion) to have two trainers per group in local trainings.
  2. Five-day ToT for local trainers
  3. Follow-up workshop for local trainings delivery (2 days)

Stage II: “Cascade” Trainings

  1. Local / “cascade” Trainings

The cascade trainings were provided by the local trained trainers all across the country (in 34 raions and 2 municipalities) according to the following time table that was coordinated with the EFA-FTI Implementation Unit and accepted though the MEY order nr. 618 dated  20.09.07.

  • Local /”cascade” Trainings Monitoring and Evaluation

The M&E of the „cascade” was carried out through:

  • on-site visits by SBSM experts who observed local trainings in 33 raion and 2 municipalities (a total of 56 training groups), interviewed participants and local trainers, coordinators on the quality of trainings and logistics and submitted analytical reports .
  • participants’  feedback epressed in the final evaluation questionnaires that were distributed to the local participants during the monitoring visits
  • final reports of the raion coordinators including the analysis of participants’  final questionnaires.
