Over 32,000 preschool-aged children benefit from educational and interactive activities thanks to the launch of 150 Resource Centers for Learning through Play in early childhood education institutions across the country. These centers were established by UNICEF in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and the Step by Step Educational Program to promote learning through play, socio-emotional development, and the inclusion of refugee children, children with special educational needs, or those from socially vulnerable backgrounds. The centers operate throughout the day, offering educational activities in the first part for children in kindergartens, and in the second part for children from vulnerable communities, with special educational needs, from different ethnic backgrounds, or refugees. The resource centers are open with the financial support of the Government of South Korea and the LEGO Foundation.
