Ongoing Project: “Schools for Democracy” — Key Event in Chișinău, June 11–13, 2025
Step by Step Moldova, in cooperation with the European Wergeland Centre, is implementing a new educational project under the initiative “Schools for Democracy: Strengthening Democratic Resilience through Education”, supported by the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine and funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).
The project’s main event — an intensive three-day training of trainers course — will take place on June 11–13, 2025, at Summit Events and Conference Center in Chișinău. The event will bring together education professionals to strengthen the capacities of Moldovan schools in promoting democratic citizenship, inclusion, and human rights.
Throughout the training, participants will collaborate with international experts to build a national EWC trainer network, encourage the exchange of best practices, and support the implementation of a safe, democratic, and inclusive educational environment tailored to the needs of all children, including displaced Ukrainian students.
This program aligns with the goals of Moldova’s national strategy “European Moldova 2030” and contributes actively to fostering a democratic culture among young people in the Republic of Moldova.
